I was fortunate to have met masters in my life who taught me to observe the world, respect and understand natural light, and the fact that in the squad, the most important thing is the human being. My father was a sculptor. I watched as a little boy how he worked with wood and stone. I learned from him that in what you do, taking away is more important than adding. My father was a teacher at the art high school in Gdynia. There was also a photo department there and one day my father showed me a real darkroom. I still remember the darkness and figures leaning over the table by the red light. I felt that I was in a completely different, magical place than I had known before. The moment,

One day I was visiting this school as a student, and I entered the same darkroom. I learned photography at a time when pictures were taken on 36 exposure film, which I still enjoy to this day. It was thought at the time that 36 shots is quite a lot to tell a story. The greatest influence on my photography was the Polish Film School in Lodz, documentaries, as well as the works of masters of street photography (documentary photography) such as Henri Cartier Bresson, Eliott Erwitt, Don Mcculin, Bogdan Dziworski. I'm one of those photographers who is close to the concept of the "defining moment" formulated by Cartier Bresson almost 80 years ago.
