Are you Ready to Schedule a Documentary Family Photo Session?

FAMILY COMES FIRST - Recently, some of our Europe family photojournalists have communicated their readiness to work with families who are able to carry on with their normal life and who want it documented. Family Photojournalist Association professional members offer a distinct and natural style of unobtrusive photography that will capture genuine, candid moments of you, your children, and even extended family enjoying time together...everyone gets in the pictures and you will likely forget the photographer is even there.

The purpose of documentary family photography is to tell a story — your story. You will be able to feel the love that you have for one another in the images. You will see the beauty that results when you are not posed or directed by your photographer to sit in a contrived position and smile on command at the camera. The FPJA has an abundance of top-ranked, Italy family photographers who are available right now. Find yours today!

Liguria Documentary Family Photographer, Sabrina Losso

Mom of twins and professional photographer since 2006, I live in the North of Italy, near to Portofino and Cinque Terre, where I run a photographic studio that specializes in newborn, kids and families. The Story Teller project is born to suit the needs of families to have a different kind of session, to create for them memories of their real everyday life. I speak Italian, English and French. Our lives are so busy, there are millions things to do in our everyday life check list, we run so fast that sometimes we don’t even remember to breath. I ask you to stop for a while, to take an entire day only for your family, to realize how lucky you are to live this crazy beautiful life. I will follow you for 24 hours, documenting with my camera all the spontaneous moments that make your family life so special and let you realize how precious it all is.

Milan Family Photographer Massimiliano Becatti

I was born in 1970 in a lovely place close to Lake Como and Lake Maggiore, beautiful lakes of Northern Italy. Since I was a little boy I have been fascinated by “photography” and it is now twenty years that I have been working in this field. In the last fifteen years I have been working as a photographer, especially for weddings. In 2012, in Milan, I set up “WeddingStudio” together with other colleagues. I take photos of wedding days giving a “ photojournalistic” cut to my pictures. That is why I define myself as a “modern storyteller”. Telling stories and touching people through my pictures: that is what I love to do. That is my job and my passion. And when there is passion in what you do, you see the difference! I like thinking and telling about your wedding in a different way: the newlyweds have to live and enjoy every moment of that day and share every moment with their loved ones. That is why I like to become “invisible” and catch details, shades, glances, moods and going on gestures. My job is a wonderful job and every time that one of my pictures can stir up emotions or recollections in people looking at it I think that considering it as “wonderful” is still not enough...

Tuscany family photography by Alessia Bruchi of Italy

Photojournalist and journalist enrolled in the Tuscany Register since 2007, with a degree in journalism and a strong predisposition towards visual culture and iconic communication. She is incurably attracted to any feline and has always been fascinated by the art of photography and by the possibility of telling facts and stories with the sole power of images. My photographic debut took place very early when on the occasion of my first communion I was given a fantastic Polaroid, a "magic box" that allowed me to tell stories by putting everything interesting that passed in front of me on film. The beginning of my business in the photography sector dates back to after the advent of digital, during the early 2000s, when fascinated by this colorful world made of colors, emotions, joys, tears and sequins, I began to tell stories following the style that was most familiar to me, that of reportage and storytelling.

Lifestyle portrait of family photographer Ana Backhaus

Hello, I'm Ana a Dubai-based documentary family photographer born in Lisbon. Life has been my best school. Every day I learn something new, a roller coaster of moments and emotions. The best part of it is that nothing has been totally perfect but, I learned that it's exactly in all that imperfection that perfection collides. That’s what makes it such a unique journey, so worth living and that’s what creates my own story... Your everyday life is exactly what makes you, YOU. Having your life documented and turned into photographs is what creates your memory archive worth revisiting and will pass your story on to the generations to come. The simplest moments are the most honest, raw, and meaningful ones. I like to capture simplicity through my lens, expect the unexpected and embrace it with the passion I have for photography.

Tallinn family photography and portraits by Elika Hunt of Harju County Estonia

I love what I do. I’m lucky that my passion’s my work. It’s the best possible starting point in creating results with the maximum love, attention and care. Being a photographer, I feel great when I’m surrounded by real life, and draw a lot of inspiration from art, music, dance, nature, my children and my beloved husband. Photography helps me capture anything I feel is important to remember. One photograph can bring me right back to the feelings, sounds, and even smells of the moment. With every picture, I am telling mine and your family’s unwritten stories and giving them that gift to keep and pass along.

Portrait of Maria Fernanda Fernandez, a family photographer going by the business name of Mafe Fernandez Photography

I'm MaFe, this is my short-name to Maria Fernanda. I'm a passionate documentary photographer celebrating people's lives in the places I have been. I started doing photojournalistic reportage in Miami 13 years ago. I have trained with many top photojournalists from the USA, and documented weddings as well as family and teens for 5 years in Panama. Established in Switzerland now for 9 years I have also documented weddings, families and business. As I became a mother of 2 small boys (5 and 7 years) I also document my very own family the same way I do for others. Now I want to meet you and celebrate with you from very honest and beautiful perspective images that will make you embrace your everyday life, documenting your routines and what seems like a normal day to you. Because it is in those tiny but important moments that we dedicate to our job, our family that builds a connection between you and the ones who surround your story and as time passes they will become unforgettable memories that bring us back to who we are, to our own essence.

London family photography by Mauro Arena of England

Hi, I'm Mauro and I'm an Italian-born newborn, children and documentary family photographer based in London. I became a professional photographer in 2020 although my passion for documentary photography started in my teenage years when my mum gave me her 35mm film camera she bought in the late 60s. I never stopped documenting our family events, the days out at the beach and our travels since then. My work has been selected by the Historic England Archive as part of the 'Picturing Lockdown Collection' and I have been selected by the British Journal of Photography as the winner of Portrait of Britain 2021. I am happily married and live with my wife and our 6 years old girl. I know how exhausting, chaotic but also beautiful and funny life with kids can be but, with my photography, I want to show how your 'every day', no matter how ordinary or little interesting it might look to you, it is in fact so extraordinary and full of emotional ingredients that make your story as a family so beautiful and meaningful just as it is.

East Flanders family photography by Ruth Wytinck, of Flanders Belgium

By taking pictures of my sons, the value of small everyday moments became and becomes really clear to me. I photograph them during game and mischief, during fun moments and crying parties, during fraternization and quarrels. These pictures say so much about them and their personality that I am sure that they will cherish these memories the most later. I also want to realize these memories with you. I live and work in Landegem near Ghent, but as a photographer, I come everywhere. A trip abroad is also perfectly possible.

Portrait of Family Photographer Sergio Russo

My images showcase some of my favorite photos of families that I have captured in the past 10+ years. My family photography work naturally followed my wedding photography business as clients started having babies. Through my wedding photography, I have grown close with many clients and they feel like family. I have continued capturing these growing families over the years, and for some, have become their “family documentarian”. Family sessions are about capturing the special bond between members. Documenting those ordinary but unique details that are often taken for granted and yet, with time, will become invaluable. A relaxed and casual atmosphere during shooting will give your family photography sincere and natural emotion. To achieve it, I will do my best to ensure the light and friendly atmosphere is created to keep your family members emotionally relaxed being on a positive wave. Family portraits can be done in your own home, in the sand dunes of the Abu Dhabi or Dubai desert, the clear blue waters of the UAE beaches, the old Dubai neighborhood of Al Fahidi, or in a park.

Estelle Chhor is a French Family Photojournalist from Herault

My approach to family and wedding photography is that of a documentary. I do not intervene, or really little, and I prefer the capture of candid images. My main goal is to tell your story and to transcribe in images what moves me in your real life. With this in mind, I am particularly attentive to MOMENTS. I want to leave you something about the beauty of your family ties, and I like to document with sincere and authentic photographs, the life of the families who entrust me with this beautiful mission.
