This is why I cherish photographing families so much. Three years into photographing career a family member passed away unexpectedly. I was unable to attend his funeral due to a wedding I was booked to photograph. The day before the wedding and the day of the funeral I was scrolling through his facebook page looking at all of the photos people were sharing of him. I immediately saw the importance of these photographs to people like I had never seen before in my life. I told myself that when I shoot the wedding the next day I would keep this in mind and work as hard as possible to get the best possible photos of the couple, their family and friends. With this new purpose every family and every moment holds more weight in my heart than ever before. About six months later I found out that the father of the groom from that same wedding had passed away unexpectedly. Soon after hearing this the photos I had taken of his dad started to show up on Facebook. Again it was those photos that became super valuable to each couple and their most valuable way to look back on his dad’s life. These photos become the most valued possession. Reaffirming the mean of what I do the pictures I take. It is with this mindset that I approach each day in the life session and everything I do.
Ever since I was a teenager, I have always enjoyed taking pictures with the camera my dad passed onto me, capturing the things, people and places around me. In 2007, I decided to turn this passion of mine into my career. Since then I have been shooting weddings, engagements, special events, family, kids and babies. I love telling stories with my camera, and my pictures demonstrated my characteristic style and unique perspective, simple yet elegant. I take great pride to apply my skills and talent to document the important and precious moments of life of my clients into lasting fine art pictures. It gives me great satisfaction to be able to capture these memories for my clients so they can cherish a lifetime.
