Are you Ready to Schedule a Documentary Family Photo Session?
FAMILY COMES FIRST - Recently, some of our Oceania family photojournalists have communicated their readiness to work with families who are able to carry on with their normal life and who want it documented. Family Photojournalist Association professional members offer a distinct and natural style of unobtrusive photography that will capture genuine, candid moments of you, your children, and even extended family enjoying time together...everyone gets in the pictures and you will likely forget the photographer is even there.
The purpose of reportage family photography is to tell a story — your story. You will be able to feel the love that you have for one another in the images. You will see the beauty that results when you are not posed or directed by your photographer to sit in a contrived position and smile on command at the camera. The FPJA has an abundance of top-ranked, Australia family photographers who are available right now. Find yours today!

My passion for photography came to light when I was 15 years old and began experimenting with the process of developing photos in a dark room. It was at that moment that I discovered my passion for encapsulating real life in the art of film, a passion which only continued to grow as I did. Since that pivotal moment in my youth, I have been ardently working within the field. After pursuing studies in Applied Arts (Nantes, France) and Graphic Arts (Quimper, France), I began my professional career within photography as a photojournalist for Boston’s Canton Newspaper in the USA, acting as a mirror to the world. Aspiring to develop my technique and expertise within photography, I then furthered my studies at RMIT in Melbourne, Australia where I won two greatly prestigious awards for my work (Victorian Photography Student of the Year, 2001 - Gold and Silver awards). In 2015, I started my photography business in France, and then at the end of 2017, I moved to Australia with my three children and my Australian husband to begin our new chapter here.
I studied History back in my University time, but besides my major study, I joined a documentary filmmaking course taught by a local veteran producer. That was when I started to discover my interest in videography and photography. Once graduated in 2008, I saved most of my salary from my first job and bought my first ever camera. I became more addicted to photography, and especially family photojournalism, because it has the magic to freeze a moment and tell a great story. Thanks to another experienced teacher, I was able to learn from him more advanced photographic techniques and philosophy, and gradually I have engaged myself with wedding and family photography.
Kia Ora - hello! I'm Liz, a documentary wedding and family photographer based in beautiful Christchurch, New Zealand. I grew up in sunny Sydney, Australia, and all of my extended family are there, but my husband and I, along with our 4 kids, have called New Zealand home for the past decade. I have loved photography for as long as I can remember, receiving my first film camera as an 8-year old I grew up behind the lens, but my greatest love is people. People are simply fascinating! Being a sociology student also helped to foster my love for the uniqueness of the human spirit and to hone my observation skills. I am passionate about telling personal stories through photography as a medium, there is so much depth that can be seen and felt through a simple gesture or a facial expression that words alone could never express. I love working with all types of kids and families, having been a parent since 2005, there's nothing I haven't seen before! I also love to work with special needs families to tell your beautiful stories too. In 2019 I was showcased at the Elevate and Grow photography exhibition in Austin, Texas. I love to travel so please get in touch even if you are outside New Zealand. I visit Australia frequently and I have family and friends in all states so I'm happy to travel anywhere. I'm so looking forward to connecting with you, let's grab a virtual (or real) coffee and chat. I can communicate in French and NZSL (New Zealand Sign Language) also - which shares similarities with BSL and Auslan. If you are deaf and interested in booking with me I would love to connect with you via Glide or Zoom. Arohanui.

Australia Birth Sessions at Home or Hospital

The right photographer will be able to use discretion while focusing on the fleeting moments that you will want to remember from your birth experience. Whether you plan to give birth at home or at the hospital, you can book a documentary birth session with a professional reportage-style birth photographer.
