New York City family photojournalist Kelly Williams loves to shoot in Queens with her documentary style.

I love what I do. I love telling the story of someone’s love, life, and happiness in one frame. While I started out wanting to be a screenwriter and spent many years toiling away in the financial world, the instantaneous thrill of capturing a memory by simply pressing the shutter button hooked me in 2004 and I have been a visual storyteller ever since with work featured in such publications as Martha Stewart Living and New York Magazine. I’ve lived all over the world and I am from Florida originally, but I’m proud to call New York City home. The vitality of NYC is something I pack into each and every photograph. I’m constantly roaming the streets and subway for new inspiration. So if you see me on the street with camera in hand, stop and say hi. I’d love to show you the city through my lens.

Manhattan and NYC are favorites for family photojournalist Casey Fatchett

I seek to capture natural, authentic photos of my clients. For the last 20 years, I have worked with people from all walks of life to create images that truly reflect their personalities. My style evolved out of my own self-conscious nature. I didn't want my clients to feel uncomfortable or overly posed. I want to bring out the best of them and you!

Portrait of Pittsburgh family photographer Pamela Anticole - PA FPJA

Professional photographer for over 15 years, I believe in the importance of documenting family life candidly, authentically, skillfully, and with a story. Photographing families is in my heart. I do it for the kids, to leave them the legacy of their memories in print. I do it for the picture takers in each family, so they can also exist in their family history. And I do it for me, because I interact with the world through the lens of my camera, and I want to meet family after family after family. I would love to meet you!

Meg Brock is a Philadelphia family photographer in PA

After graduating from nursing school, I spent two years working in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at the prestigious Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. Feeling a strong call and desire to help others, in June 2007 I left my job in Philadelphia. I took my first trip across the Atlantic Ocean and spent a year volunteering as a nurse in Monrovia, Liberia, onboard the world's largest non-governmental hospital ship, the Africa Mercy, with the medical charity, Mercy Ships. While in Liberia, I began writing about my experiences for several newspapers and magazines in the Philadelphia area. The editors needed images to illustrate my stories, so I ordered my first DSLR camera and began learning how to use it. I quickly realized the power and significance of an image. A single image could transcend distance, time, and situation, to communicate a thought, feeling, or emotion, that was universally recognized in the human experience.

San Francisco family photography by Anthony Thornton, of California

After growing up with drum sticks in my hands, I went to music school and earned a B.A. in jazz drumming. But in 2008 while studying abroad in Amsterdam, I discovered a love for photography. And in 2010 my focus completely shifted from music to image-making. To learn this new craft, I studied (and continue to!) the masters and assisted as many photographers as possible. While freelancing for publications in Colorado I eventually became a staff photographer for the Vail Daily, where my images were also published in other outlets including The New York Times and Food & Wine Magazine. Today, I'm a beardless freelancer living in San Francisco and specialize in making people look and feel like themselves.

Creative and documentary approach to family photography in New Jersey by Adena Stevens

My photography roots began with a career in photojournalism. I found immense joy getting to discover the communities I lived in while shooting for the local newspapers and having the opportunity to document people’s daily lives. That documentation of daily life is what I am now bringing to my portrait sessions – telling the stories of you and your family: Those every day simple things that we may take for granted. Those little moments that you will want to remember forever. The natural interactions of you with your family.

London, England family photography by Chloe Delmonte - United Kingdom FPJA

Hi there! Here's a little about me! I was born in Manchester almost 30 years ago to my eclectic fashion designer Mum and entrepreneurial Dad. Growing up I absolutely loved the indie, vibrant, musical, grimy, authentic vibe of Manchester and it served me well as a backdrop for all my creative endeavors. I was always in the school art room and constantly making a mess of my parents home with my collecting and collaging. I was always the one following my friends around with my vintage film cameras at all the gigs, nights out and Oasis concerts. In 2012 I graduated from Central Saint Martins art school in London with a BA in fine art photography and went on to start my photography business full time. I've had my photography featured both online, in magazines and in galleries in London, New York, and Tel Aviv. I've photographed everything from births to boudoir, from street photography to celebrity portraits but one of the most beautiful parts of my job is photographing people, families, friends, and children just being themselves, enjoying life. What I love most about lifestyle photography is that it's memorable, it feels authentic, charged, emotional and real. With minimal posing the images capture life and love as it truly is, and therefore treasured forever.
