Hi, I'm Sophie... a mum and a photographer with a love of telling other peoples stories. My number one priority is to record you exactly as you are, in a timeless way for the future, those day to day moments and essence of who you are as a family. I work with you to make your photography session hugely enjoyable and totally relaxed. Most importantly you will end up with a set of images that really mean something. I specialise in capturing family photographs which tell the story of a family in a natural candid way, precious memories captured in a very real way. My images are a vivid slice of family life, they're taken in real scenarios in real locations and certainly don’t consist of self-conscious posing. The shoots take place in your favourite places doing everyday things; you set the scene (walks in the park, lunch, brunch, cooking, games, sports - the opportunities are endless) and I photograph the family dynamic in a laid back natural way. Before all family shoots, I put the leg work in to make sure we have the most beautiful, meaningful locations and do the most engaging, fun things with the kids. As a photographer, I’ve always chased the most beautiful version of reality and strived to tell real stories in the most vivid way. As well as photographing around 25 families a year I also photograph approx 15 weddings and 20 events, which can be anything from a christening to a 40th birthday party. Outside my life as a photographer, I’m a mum, a wife, a daughter, a sister and a bessie. I’m laid back, fun loving and not easily fazed! I take this open-minded lust for life along with me to every shoot. Random facts… I’m trainer obsessed, I’m a hopeless romantic, I’ve been to Thailand 8 times, I married my first love, I listen to BBC 6 music almost religiously, I’m an interiors nut, I’ve had over 40 nicknames, I’m a terrible singer and I can do a seriously convincing Scouse accent.
I’m Linda, a documentary family photographer servicing families throughout Kent, Sussex and London. My mission is to capture the story of your family’s individual identities, your relationships with each other and the little family traditions that make your family unlike any other. I’m married to the funniest man I’ve ever met and have one amazing kid who’s taught me the beauty of slowing down and living in the moment.
I'm based between Kent and Jersey in the Channel Islands, my family home. I've had a love of photography from an early age and I've been lucky enough to have been photographing weddings professionally for 11 years, and more recently families. I have a passion for creating authentic, honest imagery and have fallen in love with documenting family life. As a mother myself, I know all too well how quickly children grow up. I would have adored having those wonderful, funny, tricky, chaotic, emotional, real moments captured and that I had been in the frame! I love capturing the connections and dynamics between a family and freezing those moments that often as a parent go unseen. Magical moments in isolation. I come from a family of creatives so I suppose it was no surprise photography would be in my life. When I'm not behind the camera, you'll find me in the garden where I can totally lose myself or making sourdough!
I live in the beautiful Norfolk Broads with my wife and two children. I have been photographing weddings and families since 2010. One of the best things in life is a good story and that's what my approach to photography is all about. I get a real buzz capturing those special moments, moments you might not remember or, perhaps, did not get to see. Even moments which, at the time, might have seemed insignificant will take on greater significance as the years roll by. I get my best images when you're just being yourselves - natural light and natural emotions!
I live on the Kent coast with my husband Steve, another photographer, and our French Bulldog, Ozzy. I've been a full time wedding photographer for almost 10 years, and have been taking pictures for as long as I can remember. I love the unpredictability of weddings and capturing moments that could never be preconceived. I take the same approach in my family photography, simply spending time with you all and seeing what happens and where the shoot takes us. Life moves by so fast; we all grow older, tiny babies become children, those children become teenagers and before long they are independent adults. With family photography, there's no time like the present to capture you all exactly as you are, at this moment in your lives. I have been a member of the WPJA since early 2010, and was their top UK photographer in 2016. In early 2017 I was awarded the title of ''Wedding Photographer of the Year'' in both the regional and national finals of The Wedding Industry Awards. My work takes me all over the UK telling stories with my camera. Visit my website and let me know if you would like me to tell yours.
