Are you Ready to Schedule a Documentary Family Photo Session?
FAMILY COMES FIRST - Recently, some of our Flanders family photojournalists have communicated their readiness to work with families who are able to carry on with their normal life and who want it documented. Family Photojournalist Association professional members offer a distinct and natural style of unobtrusive photography that will capture genuine, candid moments of you, your children, and even extended family enjoying time together...everyone gets in the pictures and you will likely forget the photographer is even there.
The purpose of documentary family photography is to tell a story — your story. You will be able to feel the love that you have for one another in the images. You will see the beauty that results when you are not posed or directed by your photographer to sit in a contrived position and smile on command at the camera. The FPJA has an abundance of top-ranked, East Flanders family photographers who are available right now. Find yours today!

By taking pictures of my sons, the value of small everyday moments became and becomes really clear to me. I photograph them during game and mischief, during fun moments and crying parties, during fraternization and quarrels. These pictures say so much about them and their personality that I am sure that they will cherish these memories the most later. I also want to realize these memories with you. I live and work in Landegem near Ghent, but as a photographer, I come everywhere. A trip abroad is also perfectly possible.
About 35 years ago I received my very first camera as a gift for my solemn communion. Among other things, I took pictures of the rhubarb in our garden, something that my father made fun of. Professionally I sought refuge in the catering industry and later in journalism, where a thorough knowledge of photography proved to be an interesting added value. From 2010 I followed countless photography modules in evening school, and since the number of published photos and assignments started to get in the way of my work as a journalist, I have been professionally fully involved in photography since 2019.
I photograph as I paint and that is quite dark. I love melancholy, light, love, and self-mockery. From Sally Mann, Tim Burton, Lars von Trier & Darren Aronofsky. But also of honesty, purity, and serenity ... I am an old soul and have been swimming quite a lot. That made me a very positive person with a lot of perseverance. I am always cheerful and smiley and have an incredible amount of patience for everything and everyone - except myself;) An extroverted introvert, very insecure alongside my self-assured me. Always looking for people who see the world as I see it: beautiful, wonderful, tolerant, and therefore entirely for everyone. I take your photos, your memories and that is why I think it is very important that you feel addressed to who I am. Only with whom you feel good can you let go of everything and be yourself.
Born in Ghent and living in Aalst. Married with Heike and father of Mon (6) and Miene (4). Together, my everything. In addition, I love the sea, music, sour sweets and photography of course. For me, photography is a hobby that got out of hand. After enthusiastic reactions to my travel photos, friends sometimes asked me to photograph their children or even their marriage. And successfully, because many tens of thousands of photos later, I was able to make my profession out of photography. My style? Spontaneous, romantic, no-nonsense photography. But above all: unusual. Furthermore, I am quite a calm and down-to-earth guy. Absolutely no big noise or someone who pushes you too much. You can safely pose for a photo, but just as well I just walk the entire day in your shadow and I give a clue here and there. If you are only in the spotlight, I will ensure that I have captured the best moments.
I have been walking around with a camera for as long as I know. First with a disposable device, then a digital device. Since 2016 I have really started to immerse myself in family photography and I followed the first training and bought an SLR camera, but the fear of the unknown and especially of not being good enough stopped me until the end of 2020 from really making family photography my profession. to make. The leap was taken, I did more training, did my first shoots and it made me a different person! It is wonderful to be able to capture all those small and large moments on the image.
